KHRC, HCCI PARTNER TO PROVIDE KANSAS TENANT AND LANDLORD SERVICES

TOPEKA, KANSAS – July 2, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — Officials from Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC), met with representatives of Housing and Credit Counseling Inc. (HCCI) of Topeka, on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, to sign an agreement forming a partnership that focuses on tenant/landlord counseling and education throughout the state.

The ultimate goal of the partnership is to deliver comprehensive tenant/landlord counseling and education services statewide. As part of the agreement, HCCI will hire a staff person to augment HCCI’s already-experienced tenant/landlord counseling team to deliver the new services.

“Recognizing HCCI’s 40 years of experience providing tenant/landlord education in Northeast Kansas, KHRC is pleased to partner with this great organization to expand this needed service statewide,” said Dennis L. Mesa, Executive Director at KHRC. “This partnership complements KHRC’s mission of enhancing Kansas communities with housing opportunities.”

KHRC awarded the grant to HCCI for $96,630 to provide services through December, 2015.

“Rental housing counseling and education is a core program toward HCCI advancing its mission of helping all people achieve their personal housing and financial goals. We look forward to working closely with KHRC on this important initiative,” said Terry Leatherman, President & CEO of Housing and Credit Counseling, Inc. “We are beginning to immediately spread the word across Kansas so tenants and landlords know HCCI is a valuable resource to turn to.”
