WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — Friday September 30, 2016 Governor Sam Brownback recognized October as Energy Awareness Month and October 30th as Weatherization Day. 2016 marks the 40-year anniversary for the National Weatherization Assistance Program which seeks to reduce utility bills for low-income families by increasing the efficiency of their homes.
As temperatures cool down this fall it is a good time for individuals to tackle home improvement projects and prepare their homes for the cold winter months ahead. A thorough inspection of how homes use and lose energy can identify how individuals can make their homes more energy efficient which helps reduce energy bills and improves comfort. For low income individuals, the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program provides a comprehensive energy audit and installs qualifying upgrades FREE of charge.
