Governor Parkinson announces Acting Bank Commissioner
June 21, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Governor Mark Parkinson has announced that Deputy Bank Commissioner Judi Stork will serve as the Acting Bank Commissioner of Kansas following the resignation of Tom Thull.
According to Kansas Statute 75-3235, the deputy commissioner of the banking division shall be the acting commissioner if the office of the commissioner is vacant or if the commissioner is absent or unable to act. Commissioner Thull has accepted a position with the Federal Home Loan Bank.
The Office of the State Bank Commissioner regulates all state-chartered banks and trust companies, savings and loan companies, mortgage businesses, supervised lenders, and money transmitters. Their mission is to ensure the safety and soundness of state-chartered financial institutions, thereby safeguarding depositors’ funds and maintaining public confidence.
