Senator Roberts Announces $4.8 Million in Housing Grants for Wichita
WASHINGTON, DC – September 8, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) announced more than $4.8 million in housing grants for Wichita.
$2,848,360 for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG): providing decent housing and a suitable living environment; expanding economic opportunities for low-and moderate-income persons.
$125,266 for Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG): improving the quality and number of emergency homeless shelters.
$1,833,537 for HOME Grants: expanding the supply of decent, affordable housing to low- and very low-income families; funding housing programs that meet local needs and priorities.
The grants were awarded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
