Senator Roberts Announces Over $32 Million in Housing Grants in Kansas
WASHINGTON, DC – June 26, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced over $32 million in grants for housing opportunities throughout Kansas.
The Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) provide decent housing and a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income persons. The Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) improve the quality and number of emergency homeless shelters. The HOME programs expands the supply of decent and affordable housing to low- and very low-income families. The HOPWA program provides assistance and services to benefit low-income persons medically diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and their families.

HOME: $1,005,409 for Johnson County
CDBG: $17,215,545 for Kansas State Program
ESG: $896,331 for Kansas State Program
HOME: $8, 551,968 for Kansas State Program
HOPWA: $357,333 for Kansas State Program
CDBG: $651,729 for Overland Park
CDBG: $229,015 for Shawnee
CDBG: $1,996,378 for Topeka
ESG: $87,552 for Topeka
HOME: $753,157 for Topeka
